IKEA Auburn Hills Pop-up Store marks IKEA’s second location in Michigan, expanding access to affordable, well-designed home furnishings throughout Metro Detroit
DETROIT, MI, UNITED STATES, August 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — IKEA U.S. today announced the grand opening of the IKEA Auburn Hills Pop-up Store on Thursday, August 27, 2026. Conveniently located at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets, this new customer meeting point brings the IKEA experience closer to customers throughout the Metro Detroit area.
The 4,500-square-foot IKEA Auburn Hills Pop-up Store will feature more than 500 IKEA products available for immediate takeaway (including frozen Swedish meatball to take home), making it easier than ever for local customers to shop for their favorite home furnishings and accessories. In addition to in-store shopping, customers can choose IKEA Auburn Hills as a pickup location for eligible online orders, arrange home delivery, and meet with IKEA planning specialists for expert support in creating functional and inspiring spaces throughout their homes.

The community is invited to attend the grand opening celebration on Thursday, August 27th, 2026, starting at 9:30am. Regular store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The IKEA Auburn Hills Pop-Up Store with Pick-up is one of many new format stores that are part of the growth strategy for IKEA U.S.—increasing accessibility to the brand and ensuring there are more ways to meet customers where they are and how they like to shop. Unlike traditional large-format IKEA stores, this format gives customers the opportunity to meet with the IKEA store team to plan and order home furnishing solutions that require a bit more help – such as kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms.
