Los Angeles, CA — August 14, 2026 — LA Wash & Chill, a community-focused hybrid laundry startup, today announced voluntary donation campaigns on GoFundMe, GiveSendGo, and FundRazr to help cover the early startup costs of its planned launch in Downtown Los Angeles — a neighborhood where access to nearby laundromats is very limited relative to its population of roughly 80,000 residents.
Downtown Los Angeles is one of the most densely populated neighborhoods in Southern California, yet many residents face an often-overlooked challenge: very limited access to clean, convenient, and affordable laundry facilities. For renters and residents without in-unit washers — a significant share of the Downtown LA population — a reliable laundromat is an essential everyday resource. Notably, Founder and CEO Foras Aje — a Downtown LA resident of more than 20 years — asked Los Angeles City Planning whether any City rules would prohibit the project, and City Planning verified that a laundromat is a permitted “personal services” use at Downtown LA sites, with no citywide restriction standing in the way.
Therefore, LA Wash & Chill is being built to help close that gap through a hybrid “brick & click” model that pairs a mobile app with physical neighborhood locations. Its planned offering includes:
• App-based pickup and delivery for laundry and dry cleaning (dry cleaning fulfilled through licensed partner facilities)
• Clean, modern self-service laundromat locations
• Planned purified drinking water at each location, subject to the required California permits
• Local jobs created through in-house operations
About the Campaigns
The donation campaigns run in parallel on GoFundMe, GiveSendGo, and FundRazr, with a combined goal of $300,000 across all three platforms (an aggregate target, not a separate goal for each). Funds are received as donations are made and are intended to help cover legal and regulatory setup; operational infrastructure (website and app development, bookkeeping, and payroll); business development and outreach; and a modest founder operational salary during the early phase — all intended to be processed through an independent third-party payroll and bookkeeping provider for transparency and accountability.
All contributions are voluntary. No equity, securities, financial return, or ownership interest of any kind is offered or implied. LA Wash & Chill is a for-profit California corporation; donations are not tax deductible, and no tax receipt will be issued.
